High Fidelity Mecha
A 3D modeled and rigged battle mecha.
Overview
This mecha was built as a method to develop a high fidelity model making pipeline. The model was made and rigged in Maya, then the textures were made in a photo shop plugin called Quixel NDO. The model is separated so the gun and visor are parented to the main chassis and arm respectively. This allows me to individually animated them for the visor opening and closing and the mini gun spin up. The models pieces are individually separated and mapped to follow specific bones in the rig. This is to avoid stretching and warping of the model as it is a rigid mechanical object.
